About the Practice

COVID-19 How we are keeping our patients safe
Richard Beavan, Dentist

Richard

We describe our practice as ‘knowledge-based’ because we have always placed great emphasis on staying abreast of the latest developments in dentistry. Unusually for a general practice we devote one day a week to professional development. Richard reviews and evaluates hundreds of papers, lectures and cases each year in his capacity as a member of one of the Europe’s most highly respected dental studies group.

The practice has been located at 20 Harley Street since 1970. It was originally founded by Colin Hall-Dexter, who championed preventative dentistry in Britain, and was a leader in dental anaesthetics, adult orthodontics and implants.

Outstanding patient care

COVID-19 How we are keeping our patients safe

Our focus is on your dental, oral and general health, as well as the visual appearance of your teeth.

We know that some patients find dental treatment challenging. If you have had a difficult experience in the past you will be reassured to hear that we have developed an innovative approach to patient care that has proved highly successful at minimising anxiety, stress and discomfort.

We are a family-friendly practice that offers a special, complimentary education programme for children and young adults.

We welcome unusual challenges, too. For example, we care for a young patient who, because of his severe Asperger’s syndrome, finds dental treatment particularly traumatic; and also look after a number of elderly, home-based patients.

Our treatments

COVID-19 How we are keeping our patients safe

Our practice offers a comprehensive range of treatments, including all aspects of preventive and cosmetic dentistry.

Before we begin any treatment, we give you a detailed quotation that sets out the programme – in plain English – together with support information (such as x-rays) and a step-by-step explanation of what we will be doing, how long it will take and what it will cost.

We’re happy for regular patients to spread some, or all, of the cost of treatment or, if you pay in advance, we will give you a 5% discount. Members of group schemes (minimum number four people) are eligible for extra savings. Please ask us for a quotation.
